Specialist ballasted mounting for flat roofs.
Flat roofs on extensions, garages, or commercial buildings offer excellent solar potential. We use specialist aerodynamic mounting systems that are weighed down (ballasted) rather than bolted through the roof, preserving your waterproofing.
The biggest fear with flat roofs is leaks. That's why we use the Van der Valk or K2 Dome systems. These rely on wind deflectors and concrete ballast blocks to stay secure, meaning we do not drill holes in your EPDM or felt roof.
On a flat roof, we often install panels in an East-West "concertina" layout. This allows us to fit more panels in the available space compared to south-facing rows (which need large gaps to prevent self-shading). It also spreads generation more evenly throughout the day.
Because the panels are tilted at only 10-15 degrees, they are often completely invisible from the ground, making them an ideal choice for conservation areas.

Is my roof strong enough?
We perform a structural calculation to ensure your roof can take the weight of the ballast (typically 20-30kg/m²).
Can I see the panels?
Usually not from the garden, as the low profile keeps them below the parapet wall.
