Eco-Smart Battery Retrofit in Newbury
01The Challenge
The client had an existing 4kW solar array installed in 2018 but was exporting over 60% of their generation back to the grid during the day while they were at work. They needed a way to store this energy to use in the evenings for cooking and EV charging.
02Our Solution
We installed a Myenergi Libbi 5kW Hybrid system. As they already had a Zappi EV charger, the Libbi was the natural choice for a seamless ecosystem. We replaced their old string inverter with the Libbi hybrid inverter, cleaning up the garage wall and providing a single app for solar, battery, and car charging control.
03The Outcome
Self-consumption increased from 40% to 92%. The client now charges their battery overnight on the Octopus Intelligent tariff (7.5p/kWh) during winter, and runs almost entirely off solar in the summer.
